International Office

The Nuremberg Institute of Technology is an internationally recognized state university of applied sciences and an active global player.

More than 160 partnerships with other institutions of higher education worldwide, an above-average percentage of foreign students (1,000 from more than 100 nations) and a broad range of international degree programs make “Nuremberg Tech” an internationally attractive place with all-round services for students. International research projects and joint-projects as well as a multitude of guest lecturers from Europe and overseas add to the university´s international ambience.

We want our guests to enjoy their stay in Nuremberg. Our “Come In” and “Come Together” initiatives contribute to a successful integration of our foreign students and received awards from the German Employers’ Federation and the Bavarian Ministry of Science.
A German research study among foreign students found that their satisfaction with life and studying in Nuremberg is pretty high: Nuremberg Tech now ranks at second place among 28 universities in Germany.

Nuremberg Tech is a member of the “National Code of Conduct on Foreign Students at German Universities” that ensures high-quality advising and support services to international students prior to and during their studies. Nuremberg Tech is also a member of the “Bürgerbewegung für Menschenrechte” (Citizens’ Movement for Human Rights), which is an association aiming to support intercultural exchange and reduce prejudices.

In cooperation with the university management and the academic Faculties, the International Office (IO) promotes the extension and cultivation of international relations as well as the overall internationalization processes for our university. It offers advice and guidance to Germans intending to study abroad and to foreign students staying in Germany. The IO is the hub for international activities at Nuremberg Tech and provides information on all their different aspects. With regard to international exchange programs the IO takes care of the organization of exchange procedures and informs about grants. It also administers important grant programs, like the popular “ERASMUS”-Program. In order to promote internationalization it develops special initiatives and offers a wide range of services.

If you are a German or foreign student/professor, involved in international activities, make sure to contact the IO to make use of its experience and connections.
