International Office

Nuremberg Institute of Technology is an internationally recognized State University and an active global player.

More than 150 partnerships with other Institutions of Higher Education worldwide, an above-average rate of foreign students (1000 from more than 100 nations) and a broad range of international study programs make the “Nuremberg Tech” an internationally attractive place with all-round services for students. International projects of scientific co-operation as well as a multitude of guest lecturers from Europe and overseas countries add to the university´s international ambience.

We want our guests to enjoy their stay in Nuremberg. Our “Come In” and “Come Together” initiatives contribute to a successful integration of our foreign students and received awards by the German Employers’ Federation and the Bavarian Ministry of Science.
A German research study among foreign students has found out that their satisfaction with life and study in Nuremberg is pretty high: Nuremberg Tech now ranks a second place among 28 universities in Germany.

Nuremberg Tech is a member of the “National Code of Conduct on Foreign Students at German Universities”, that ensures high-quality advising and support services to international students prior to and during their studies. The Nuremberg Tech is also a member of the “Bürgerbewegung für Menschenrechte” (Citizens’ Movement for Human Rights), which is an association aiming to support intercultural exchange and reduce prejudices.

In co-operation with the university management and the academic faculties, the Division of International Affairs (IO) promotes the extension and cultivation of international relations as well as the development of internationalization. It offers advice and guidance to Germans intending to study abroad and to foreign students staying in Germany. The IO is the hub of international activities at Nuremberg Tech and provides information on all their different aspects. With regard to international exchange programs the IO takes care of the organization of exchange procedures and informs about grants. It also administers important grant programs, like the popular “ERASMUS”-Program. In order to promote internationalization it develops special initiatives and offers a wide range of services.

If you are a German or Foreign student/professor, involved in international activities, make sure to contact the IO to make use of its experience and connections.
